When shopping for an appropriate chiller, the most important factors to be considered:
Minimum temperature and cooling capacity
Pump pressure
Pump flow rate
Rotary evaporator is commonly used in laboratories for rapid evaporation of solvents in samples under reduced pressure. It is mainly used in chemistry, chemical engineering, biomedicine and other fields.
It is very common for a desired compound to be dissolved in a solvent during regular manipulations in the laboratory. The preferred method for solvent removal is by use of a rotary evaporator. For rotary evaporator temperature accuracy and convenience purposes, a chiller provides an effective and cost-efficient cooling option.
In the simplest of explanations, Rotary Evaporator requires cooling and ideally a recirculating chiller supplies that cooling. A chiller is used to ensure that the Rotary Evaporator has sufficient cooling at the precise temperature. For the solvent to vaporize properly in the rotary evaporator, cooling must be added because during evaporation, the solvent evaporated is warm. Typically, a chiller will pump cool fluid (typically water or a water/glycol mixture) to the process to remove the heat and the warm fluid returns to the chiller. When shopping for an appropriate chiller, the most important factors to be considered:
Rotary evaporators usually need to work in a fume hood, so if cooling power meets need, try to choose a small-volume cooling water circulation machine. with an evaporating sample volume below 100mL are generally equipped with Model T1 with 300W chiller. Generally, Model T2 600W cooling water circulation machine is optional for evaporating sample volume below 200mL, and T3 with 1000W cooling water circulation machine is available for large-volume sample evaporation.
AUWII T series chiiler is the best choice for rotary evaporator.
